About Porto's Bakery and Cafe
Porto's Bakery and Cafe is an italian deli in Glendale, California. In Glendale, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. BYOB is common at smaller restaurants in some states, with a modest corkage fee or none at all; the listing or a quick call will tell you. Wing-and-pizza shops across California do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 6:30 am–8:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (818) 956-5996. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, portosbakery.com.
Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 19,726 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded italian delis & bakeries in Glendale.
Glendale is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Glendale follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Porto’s was SO worth the stop! I tried the potato ball, meat pie, and cheese roll, and honestly everything was delicious. The potato ball was perfectly crispy outside and soft inside with that flavorful meat filling. The meat pie was flaky and savory, and the cheese roll was creamy, flaky, and just sweet enough. I genuinely enjoyed everything I tried and would absolutely come back. Definitely one of my favorite food stops in LA!

Who hasn't been here probably no one, it's still as amazing as ever. I have memories of coming here as a teen when it was still little. Since covid they have done away with a lot of things but that being said everything here is still amazing 👏 this time for lunch my friend and I shared the cuban and the media noche sandwich, we both had a guava smoothie and I had a flan for dessert. Yum! 🤗 I must say one of my favorite things here is the pork plate. It's totally under rated. I will soon be back to order one. The staff here and in all Portos locations is amazing. This time Bryan stood out what a sweet and accommodating young man. You would think it's a full service restaurant. The prices here are always reasonable which I love and everything including the bathroom 🚻 is always tidy.

Finally got to try Porto's and I absolutely understand what others are talking about. It was recommended to me from my brother, and I was just in awe! The parking was unfortunately tough, street parking was packed on a regular weekday, a little after 10am and before noon. My husband had to drive around while I went inside and shop for us. My first thought was that I was so overwhelmed with the amount of pastries displayed! They all looked absolutely delicious and reasonably priced, which is not something easy to find in LA, let alone Cali! I got the infamous cheese roll per suggestion, coconut strudel, churro croissant, and dulce de leche besito. The total for all was less than $10! How was that even possible! In this day and age?! Anyway, then I got back to the car. My husband had the coconut strudel, I had the cheese roll. Both were absolutely wonderfully amazingly delicious!! I could not believe how I never tried this before! We shared the besito, it was so cute and delicious too! We had the churro croissant the next day after heated in microwave. It was uhmazing, tasted freshly baked. Next time, I hope we get to find a parking so we can sit down and enjoy their other delicio

Porto's Bakery & Cafe has been our go-to place for many years—for family celebrations, bringing dessert to someone’s home, or simply treating ourselves. Porto's Bakery & Cafe has truly been a part of our lives, and we’ve enjoyed so many delicious items there over the years. We even had their carrot cake for our 28th wedding anniversary, and it’s my favorite carrot cake anywhere. I also love their strawberry cake with whipped cream and fresh sliced strawberries, as well as the Parisian chocolate cake, which is incredibly delicious. Honestly, I’ve never had anything there that wasn’t good. Everything tastes fresh, made with quality ingredients, and the prices are very affordable. They offer dine-in, takeout, and delivery through services like DoorDash. Parking can be challenging when it’s busy, but they open early, which makes pickups easier. And their chocolate chip cookies are some of the best. Highly recommend!

I drove 2 hours from San Diego just to try this place—and it was absolutely worth it! The food was spectacular from start to finish. Alex helped me choose some amazing items, including the Spicy Chicken Milanesa. The bread was warm and perfectly made, and the melted cheese just brought everything together. We also tried the Tuna Melt—wow! The bread was crispy, the cheese melted perfectly, and the tuna tasted incredibly fresh. The potato balls stuffed with meat, cheese, and jalapeño are a MUST try! And don’t even get me started on the desserts—they’re all made with love and you can truly taste it. We grabbed drinks and sat outside—there’s plenty of space whether you’re going solo, on a date, or meeting up with family and friends. The whole atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. Anthony was kind and generous, and Gabby (the general manager) is clearly doing an amazing job. The place runs smoothly, everything is clean (including the bathrooms), and the staff genuinely seem happy to be there. Definitely come check this place out—you won’t regret it! Pro tip: park in the back (about $2/hour). You’ll thank me later!
